Katie- "I was wondering where my life was headed sitting on the pavement at the Salvation Army. I was married, 28 years old, and have a Bachelors degree in Psychology. My life spiraled into oblivion. I lied, cheated, stole, manipulated, and abandoned everything I held dear to me. finally I ended up in the hospital from an overdose. When I entered the Lighthouse, I was a complete mess! But through my pastors, leaders, and this program, God has shown up in my life in a mighty way! He pulled me straight out of my muck and mire and gave me hope! I no longer feel worthless. I know I have a purpose and plan for my life and I am so excited about my future. I used to think that my life was beyond repair, but Jesus gave me whole new life!""

Lisa - "The early years of my marriage were good but my husband soon became very sontrolling. It got progressively worse andhe bacame abusive mentally, verbally, and physically. I began drinking. Over the next 8 years, the alcohol caused me to lose everything- my husband, my children, my house, my relationships with my family-everything! I went to rehab so many times they referred me as a "frequent flyer". I tried AA, halfway houses, and every program in Manatee and Sarasota county. Nothing worked. Back in rehab, I believed wouldn't find anything that would work, then I saw a new name, The Lighthouse. When I walked through the door I immediately felt the presence of the Lord. I was greeted warmly by my new sisters and finally felt a sense of relief and belonging. I was home! I knew without a doubt that this was going to work. Something was different this time. Since I have been at the Lighthouse God has moved mightily in my life. At the Lighthouse, I have found the structure and discipline that had been absent from my life. With the guidance of Pastors Kevin and Hope, and Women's Director Jael Heart, and all to the wonderful teachers that take the time to come to t the house, my life has completely changed. I am worthy, strong, bold, confident, beautiful--a new creation! I walk in the light now and need not ever look back into the darkness I know without a doubt that I had I not found the Lighthouse I would not be here on this earth today! I am joyful and healthy-mentally, physically, and spiritually. All glory to God!

Erin - "I had a 5 year career as a flight attendant, traveled the world, made good money, and within 3 months of starting up heroine and crack, I lost everything! My career, two houses, and nice car. All I had worked so hard for was gone. So I progressively got worse because I thought I had nothing to live for anymore. My life got completely out of control. I was in and out of jail and rehabs for 6 more years and had tried all the other programs this town had to offer. My mother heard of Light Under The Bridge through a newspaper article. I said it was perfect for me. I was fighting for my life. This time, i did it for myself instead of for everyone else. When I came through the door a the Lighthouse, I knew I had finally filled the void in my heart by restoring my relationship with Jesus Christ. This program has given me the stepping stone to getting my life back!."
