On any given night, there are approximately 1,976 unsheltered homeless people in Seattle.  More than 1,300 sleep on the ground, in doorways, bus shelters, and bushes. The remainder are in vehicles. 

They are all people. They are mothers, fathers, sons & daughters. 

Each and every one had a childhood, hopes and dreams.  Now they are unhoused, exposed to the elements, and often treated as the outcasts of society. 

These people are homeless because they have no homes. It is that simple.  They are not in shelters because there is a lack of more than 1200 shelter beds each night. There is no place for them to go.
